Educational Qualification

Matriculation   or   equivalent   and Diploma in Electrical/ Mechanical/Electronics  and  Telecommunication (Radio/Power) Engineering approved by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE)with 60% in aggregate.

(5% relaxation in above minimum cut off will be given for SC/ST candidatesand outstanding sports person of National level who  have  obtained  1st,  2ndor  3rdposition  in  any  field sports  events  at  the  Open  National Championship/ Interstate National Championship. This relaxation will also be applicable to the wards of Coast Guard uniform personnel deceased while in service).

Coast Guard Navik / Yantrik Selection Process

The selection of recruits is based on an all India order of merit on their performance in Stage-I, II, III & IV.

• Stage I : Written Exam
• Stage II : PFT and DV
• Stage III : Medical
• Stage IV : Original Document Verification

Coast Guard Exam Stage I

Written Exam

• I.    The question paper for section I, II, III, IV & V will be objective type with four options.
• II.    There is no negative marking in the written examination test.

• Section I     60 QUE.: 60 Marks in 45 Min.     Math – 20, Science – 15, English – 15, Reasoning – 10, GK – 5
• Section II     50 QUE.: 50 Marks in 30 Min.     Math – 25, Physics – 25
• Section III     50 QUE.: 50 Marks in 30 Min.     Electrical Engg. – 50
• Section IV     50 QUE.: 50 Marks in 30 Min.     Electronics Engg – 50
• Section V     50 QUE.: 50 Marks in 30 Min.     Mechanical Engg – 50

Coast Guard Exam Stage II

Physical Fitness Test

Physical  Fitness  Test  (PFT)  will  be  conducted  for  all  those  who  qualify  in  the  written test.   The PFT will consist as under:-

• I.    1.6 Km run to be completed in7minutes.
• II.    20 squat ups (UthakBaithak).
• III.    10 Push ups.
• IV.    Height: 157 CMS Minimum

Candidates those who qualify the Physical Fitness Test will be required to undergo initial recruitment medical examination at the respective recruitment centre.

The  select  list  will  be  prepared from  the  candidates  who  qualify  in  all  the  tests,depending upon the available vacancies. The all India select list of candidates will be displayed in  the  Indian  Coast  Guard  Website www.joinindiancoastguard.gov.in
